Food Stall Near to Siburan Market
Siburan is my home town, located at 17 miles, Kuching-Serian Road. It is about 32km from Kuching city. Siburan is a small town which is fast developing during last decade, with many shops and houses built within the area.
In Siburan, there are a lot of coffee shops serving good quality food. Among all, there is a food stall located near to the Siburan's market which you may not discover its existence as it is not really strategically located, but after all it serves quite good Kolomi. The Kolomi in Siburan are more likely to serve in "red" which taste more the sweet side.
Noodles: Ok, but can make it more.
Barbecue Meat: Good enough.
Minced Meat: Good enough.
White Meat: Not present.
Fish Ball: Not present.
Overall: Above average.

Batu Kawa's Meatball
During the 2010 Chinese New Year, I went to this coffee shop at Batu Kawa, Kuching. Batu Kawa is a small town set beside Sarawak River, where a lot of people like to go there fishing or prawning at the weekend.
Batu Kawa is famous with their "Batu Kawa Meatball", which, I believe tastes better than the one from Johor. That why the Kolomi here also served with meatball and something that I should call it "meat cube". Look at the picture on the left, you see what I mean?
There are a few keys in making a bowl of good Kolomi. The most crucial one would be the cooking time for the noodles. The noodles must not overcooked, otherwise it will not give you just the right taste.
The Kolomi sold here is out of tradition, as they put stuff other than what we use to see like barbecue and soy sauce meat. May be caused by the difficulty in finding materials during Chinese New Year, so they had change their menu for that.
Usually, many people like Kolomi with milk coffee or black coffee (Kopi-o), so do I. Kolomi and coffee, I have no doubt to say that, they are just match to each other very well indeed what we so call perfection. So, only the shop which are capable to provide good and aromatic coffee can gain their customer back and back again.
What you can see at the picture on the right are empty bowls, black coffee and hot Milo (chocolate drinks), but I am sure apart from that, you can imagine the "satisfaction" which people obtained after the meal, and that are what exactly behind the scene.
Noodles: Not good enough, slightly overcooked
Others: the appear of "meat cube" make it quite special.
Coffee: taste really good, 95/100.

The Simunjan Night Bazaar
I can't recall exactly what is the time the trip to Simunjan, but it was fell in 2009. The trip is quite memorable as I had the opportunity to tasted the local food and met the local villages.
Simunjan is a small town located around 150km or more from Kuching, it is famous with their Simujan rice with some plant on the mountain terrace. I think the local here mostly are Chinese Hakka and Malays, as the Chinese I met here speaking Hakka, and I saw quite a number of Malay house along the way to the town. And other ethnic perhaps Iban who are planting the mountain rice.
The town is setting beside a river. There are more than 40 shophouses around the town, a wet market, and if i am not mistaken a bank. I enjoy exploring places like this especially small town around Sarawak.
Besides the brown rice we ate for lunch and dinner at the corner coffee shop, and the *roti canai with curry chicken and *teh tarik at the new built food store behind the shophouses on the next day morning, I had tried the local style Kolo Mi at the night bazaar for supper in the first day night. The Kolo Mi here is not bad, and summarized as below.
Noodles: taste good like tradition.
Barbecue meat: taste good and juicy.
Minced meat: a little bit disappointed.
Others: vegetable and extra add to the local favour.
* roti canai: famous Indian food normally eat with curry dal.
* teh tarik: bubble milk tea also known as eastern cappuccino.
